Aubrey & Avery 3 months

3 Months Old
The girls are right on track for their adjusted age which is 6 weeks (13 weeks ago they were born)
They have just started smiling and cooing a little bit. We are working on tummy time, and trying to hold their heads up. They are both getting a lot stronger. They are both still sleep a lot during the day. I am trying to do the baby wise method, of wake, eat, play, sleep. But sometimes they are just too tired to play after eating. They are eating 4oz bottle every 3 hours during the day. During the night I am getting one 5 hour stretch of sleep which has been really nice. Avery is usually the one that wakes up first, so then I wake up Aubrey too, that way they are on the same schedule. I try to have their last feeding at 9:30-10 and then put them down. I have been learning to go to bed at that time too, so we can all get some good sleep time in. I can't wait for them to start sleeping through the night!!! They are still sleeping in our room, but I think maybe this week I will move them to their cribs :(

I just got a Disneyland pass, and have been enjoying going with Riley, and my mom and sister. We still need to find Goofy, as that is Riley's favorite character. We are going to go with her friend Emilie this week. I can't believe that this Thursday she is going to be turning 2. Time has flown by so fast.

Going Home

Me and my girls!

Riley playing doctor

Avery

Aubrey

The girls have been home for a week now and so far everything is going pretty good. I have to wake them up every 3 hours to eat. It takes about an hour to change both and feed both, so I have 2 hours in between to either sleep or do whatever else. Riley has been adjusting pretty good too at being a big sister!

Aubrey & Avery

First picture of the 4 of us.... Can't wait for Riley to meet the girls!

The girls were born on Feb 1st at 5:51am and 5:56am via C-Section. I woke up that morning around 2:30am with some cramping feelings, but didn't think it was labor. It continued to get worse, and about an hour later I called my mom and asked her what she thought and she said to call my Dr., who said to go right in to labor and delivery. At this time it was about 3:45 and I was having contractions about 6 minutes apart. By the time we left our house at 4:10 they were 2-3 min apart. We rushed to the hospital got checked in and discovered I was 7 cm dilated already. I decided to do a C-section since Avery baby B was transverse and breech. They rushed me in to OR prepped me and they were born. Both Aubrey at 4lbs 6oz and Avery at 4lbs 15oz. Avery got put on a C-pap for her breathing, and Avery was breathing room air. Considering they were born at 33 weeks they were good weights and doing pretty well.

They have been in the NICU since and we are so anxious to get them home. Avery got taken off her Cpap on Feb 3rd in the morning and has been breathing room air since. Both girls were on caffeine for a week because of apnea spells. Yesterday the 13th was the first day without caffeine, and they need to be off of it for at least a week without any spells. So the earliest they can come home is next Wednesday. Going back and forth to the NICU is hard everyday and it's harder not having all my girls home with me. Riley has been going back and forth to grandparents houses and has been doing pretty good. I miss them all and can't wait for them all to be home!!!

31 week update

I forgot to take a picture this week (31 weeks) so I'll post a 30 week picture.

Anyways I can't believe that in couple weeks I get to meet my precious girls :) Everyone keeps asking are we ready yet.... UM NO, but we are making progress.
We just painted the nursery yesterday, and put the new crib up. Now to just get everything else organized, finishing the twins room, getting Riley's new room set up, and starting and finishing our bathroom remodel. Yes we are going to be starting to redo one of our bathrooms hopefully starting next week. :) Can't wait for that to be done. We still need to pick names too.

My Last ultrasound, which was Jan 2, baby A was 2.14lbs and baby B was 3.4lbs. Which they said were good weights for these girls. They were concerned with my weight gain over the holidays, (too many sweets I guess) so I got sent to a nutritionalist.  One week on a diet and I lost 1.9lbs. I don't have to check my blood sugar everyday, just watch what I eat and take out a lot of sugars and carbs. It hasn't been that bad at all. I have an ultrasound the end of this month to see how big the girls have gotten. Right now the babies are making like a ying yang sign, baby A is head down, and baby B is head up but heading downward.

Here is a comparison picture of 30 weeks pregnant with twins and with Riley. What a difference.

25 weeks

This pregnancy has been going pretty good so far. I had my glucose appointment yesterday, and find out tomorrow if I passed it. Crossing my fingers. My Dr. also told me that both girls are head down, which she was pretty excited about. She also said I was measuring the same as a 28 week for a singleton. (which is totally normal, and I am right on track) I love getting to see them every appointment. My next appointment is my last month one and then I will be going every 2 weeks. I feel like this pregnancy has been going pretty fast.
